The Waseca Chamber Ambassadors welcome the Waseca County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse as the newest member of the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce & Tourism —
Waseca, MN — The Waseca County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse (WCMSP) has officially joined the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce, marking a meaningful partnership that enhances community collaboration, safety, and civic pride. This partnership brings together local business leadership and dedicated public safety volunteers with a shared goal — to serve and strengthen the Waseca community.

Founded in 1969 by Sheriff Donald D. Eustice, the WCMSP has grown into a vital volunteer unit assisting the Waseca County Sheriff’s Office. The Posse provides essential services including search and rescue, event support, traffic and crowd control, and scene security. Its members volunteer their time, skills, and personal resources to help ensure safety and order at community events and during emergencies.

What the Posse Does for the Community:
  • Assists in search and rescue operations, navigating difficult terrain on horseback or ATV.
  • Provides crowd-control and safety support for parades, fairs, street dances, and community events.
  • Expands volunteer opportunities through both mounted and ATV participation.
  • Operates as a fully volunteer-funded unit supported by donations and fundraising.
  • Encourages youth involvement through the Junior Posse, launched in 2024 for ages 16–18, fostering the next generation of community volunteers.
  • Partner with local businesses on community events and safety initiatives.
  • Inspire greater citizen involvement and volunteerism across the county.
“The addition of the Waseca County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse to our Chamber family is a true reflection of what community partnership looks like,” said Robin Dulas, Executive Director of the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce. “Their dedication to service, safety, and volunteerism aligns perfectly with the Chamber’s mission to support a vibrant, connected, and resilient Waseca. We’re proud to welcome them as members and look forward to collaborating in ways that benefit our entire community.”

“The Ambassadors were honored to welcome the Posse into the Chamber,” added Katie Gonzales, Chair of the Waseca Area Chamber Ambassadors. “Their long-standing commitment to protecting and supporting our residents adds incredible value to our membership network. Together, we can continue building a stronger, safer Waseca — one partnership at a time.”

“We are excited to join the Waseca Area Chamber of Commerce because it enables us to deepen our engagement with the community we serve,” said Troy Keane, Captain of the Waseca County Mounted Sheriff’s Posse. “Our volunteers dedicate countless hours to keeping Waseca County safe, supporting events, and helping our neighbors. Partnering with the Chamber gives us a broader platform to collaborate, raise awareness, and strengthen the network of care in our county.”
